The St. Petersburg chess set was created to commemorate the elite St. Petersburg tournament and is one of the most celebrated turn-of-the-century designs. Each piece has been hand-crafted, weighted, and polished by master craftsmen, making the design, quality, and craftsmanship to a superior standard. The pieces, made of darker Anjan and lighter Boxwood, are designed to withstand the rigours of practical play, and maintain its elegance for years to come. The base of each piece is fitted with green felt and extra queens are included in this set.
