chess camp 2, simple checkmates - Sukhin
Chess Camp is a new training system for beginning players, their parents and coaches. Starting with simple problems to illustrate key concepts, and then progressing to more complex positions, the student will learn by doing, methodically integrating new information with previous knowledge while building effective thinking habits on the board. The series is the official beginner's guide of the United States Chess Federation.
The second book in this series, Simple Checkmates, contains 618 structured problems, exercises and fun puzzles that will help the student to:
- learn basic checkmate patterns in the opening, middlegame and endgame;
- see when checkmate is imminent; and
- understand that material isn't everything, as just a few pieces can defeat a whole opposing army.
Who should read this book?
