Inspired by ancient eastern cultures, the traditional Staunton chess piece design has been given an exotic Asian flavour to deliver this innovative Mughal Aftab chess set. The pieces are carefully handcrafted by artisans from high-quality Sheesham and Boxwood, making every piece and every set unique. The fretwork shows significant attention to detail.

To complement the pieces and complete this stunning set, combine with the Acacia and Boxwood solid wooden chess board. Handcrafted in India with exceptional craftsmanship. Acacia is a beautiful darker brown wood with a prominent grain - varying between straight and wavy patterns. Acacia wood has a smooth finish and is highly scratch resistant to bring you a quality wooden chess board. Packaged in a white cardboard box for protection.

Additionally, as an extra choice, we offer a large Kiaat wooden box, handmade in South Africa and exclusively available from House of Chess. Kiaat is durable, and colour can vary from a light golden brown to a darker brown with a brown-reddish tint and wavy grains. Divided into 2 compartments for light and dark colour pieces and fitted with felt to protect chess pieces. Large size: 26 x 18 x 12cm.
