The American Staunton broadbase chess piece set is inspired by Howard Staunton, who introduced and promoted the standardised Staunton design at the 1851 London International Chess Tournament.

Hand-carved in India from Acacia and Boxwood, the pieces feature broad bases and felt for protection and smooth movement.
