About the Author:

Vladimir Vuković was a renowned Croatian-Jewish chess writer, theoretician, player, arbiter, and journalist. Born in Zagreb, Croatia, in 1898, he made significant contributions to the chess world.  While primarily a writer, Vuković was also a competitive chess player. He represented Yugoslavia in several chess Olympiads.
