If you're captivated by endgames or recognize the need to enhance this aspect of your chess play, this book is an essential addition to your collection. This highly regarded book will provide all the endgame training you need to beat your opponent.

This book is meant less as an endgame manual and more as an endgame proving ground. By selecting many exercises of diverse themes, the authors have attempted to give you the chance to become comfortable with each one as you solve more positions.

  • This book is suitable for intermediate to advanced-level players, rated in the 1200 to 2000 Elo range
  • With 450 exercises, the book covers a wide range of endgame topics
  • Starting with the chapter “Specific Positions to Know,” the authors take you on a journey with just the right mix of practical advice and theoretical knowledge
  • Learn basic techniques for more complex and rare endgame positions
  • Exercises are organised on theme and structured to improve your intuition, calculation and overall endgame understanding
  • A valuable training resource for serious students

Reader Review:

There are already many endgame books, so why this one? Most books deal with elementary endgames or are very advanced and contain few exercises. But you only learn something when you can execute it on the board, with the clock ticking. Solving exercises is very close to this scenario - Tol P
