About the Authors:

Karsten Muller (born 1970) is a German Chess Grandmaster and author. He earned a Grandmaster title in 1998 and a PhD in Mathematics in 2002 at the University of Hamburg.

Rainer Knaak, is a distinguished German chess Grandmaster and author. He learned chess at the age of five and quickly rose through the ranks, securing East German youth championships in 1966, 1969, and 1970.
