Chess Clocks | Computers | E-Boards

Chess clocks, e-boards, and chess computers are all modern innovations that have greatly impacted the game of chess.

Invented by Thomas Bright Wilson of Manchester Chess Club, chess clocks were first used during the competition at the London 1883 tournament to prevent games from going on indefinitely. They are now a standard tool used in chess tournaments, with each player getting a certain amount of time to make their moves. The DGT2500 and DGT3000 clock is FIDE approved and in full accordance with all FIDE rules and regulations.

E-boards, or electronic chess boards, are another development that have become increasingly popular in the chess world. They are used for live game transmission, training, online play, computer play and game analysis.

Chess computers take you away from the screen and allow you to sit behind a real chess board to play against a variety of chess engines. Chess computers are devices that can play chess on their own, using complex algorithms and artificial intelligence to make moves. They are often used for training and practice. These innovations have helped to make chess more accessible, competitive, and engaging than ever before.
