Inspired by ancient eastern cultures, the traditional Staunton chess piece design has been given an exotic Asian flavour to deliver this Mughal Aftab chess set.
The pieces are carefully handcrafted by artisans from high quality Sheesham wood, making every piece and every set unique. The attention to detail is rivaled in other sets of this price range.
The set is not appropriate for tournament play because it does not adhere strictly enough to the Staunton design, but enough of the design is retained to clearly distinguish between the pieces.

Handmade in South Africa and exclusively available from House of Chess. Kiaat is durable and the wood colour can vary from a light golden brown to a darker brown with a brown-reddish tint and wavy grains. Ideal to keep your wooden chess pieces safe and secure. Divided into two compartments for light and dark colour pieces and fitted with felt to protect chess pieces. Size: large - 26 x 18 x 12cm.
When choosing chess pieces for a wooden chess board, it's important to ensure that the size of the chess pieces matches the size of the squares on the chess board. Mughal Aftab pieces should fit on a x large-sized wooden board.  However, it is essential to check the specifications of both the chess pieces and the board to ensure they are compatible.

If we receive your payment before 11:30am, the order will be shipped on the same day. Deliveries to Pretoria and Johannesburg are most likely delivered the next business day. Generally, we deliver to all major towns within 2 to 3 business days, while deliveries to more remote areas can take up to 5 business days. Regardless of how remote your location is in Southern Africa, we proudly deliver to any destination.
